What We've Read In Class

Who knew that  a tick bite could make you allergic to meat? Well it's a thing. Swollen eyes, bumps that cover your body, and wheezing are symptoms.

I've known tick bites to give you Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, but never to make you allergic to meat. Have I ever been bitten? Well, yes, one time. Thankfully I was fine and caught the tick in time. Nowadays, creatures are to complex and to sickening to humans and animals alike. Even though we know they are there, we sometimes don't know what they are capable of.

Whenever you go on a trip or somewhere that is very wooded, make sure that you check your hair, legs, arms, and back for any ticks that may have attached themselves to you. If you realize that there is a tick attached to you, try to remove it. If the head has been completely inserted, find something you can get it out with. Get someone to drive you to  the nearest hospital as soon as you find a tick.

The nurses and doctors will assist you from here. They'll run several tests on you just to see how serious this bite really is. If its very serious, 9 times out of 10 they'll make you stay over night. It is just a safety hazard so no need to worry.

Next time you notice red bumps and you start to wheeze, make sure that you go straight to the emergency room, cause there is almost a 100% chance that you have been bitten by a tick.
