Verse 1- Got a picture of your house where you're standing by the door. It's black and white and faded, man it's looking pretty worn. I see the factory that I worked, silhouetted in the back. Memories are gray but man they're really coming back. I don't need to be the king of the of the world as long as I'm the hero of this little girl.
Chorus- Heaven isn't too far away, closer to it everyday. No matter what your friends might say.
Verse 2- How I love the way you move and the sparkle in your eyes theres a color deep inside you like a blue suburban sky. When I come home late at night and you're in bed asleep, I rap my arms around you so I can feel you breathe. I don't need to be a superman as long as you will always be my biggest fan.
Chorus- Heaven isn't to far away, closer to it everyday, no matter what you're friends might say, we'll find our way, yeah
(Guitar solo)
Verse 3- Now the lights are going out along the boulevard, memories come rushing back and it makes it pretty hard. I've got no where left to go, and no one really cares, I don't know what to do, nut I'm never giving up on you.
Chorus- Heaven isn't too far away, closer to it everyday, no matter what your friends say, I know we're gonna find our way.
Bridge- Heaven, oh, oh, oh, oh. Heaven, oh, oh, oh, oh. Heaven its not too far away oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah.

What I think Jani is trying to say is, that no matter what tour he is on or what interview he is doing, he has the memories from his daughters and wife. The line "I don't need to be a superman, as long as you will always be my biggest fan," is my favorite line from the song. His oldest daughter, Taylor, was and still is his biggest supporter. He was her superman. Taylor, his daughter, inspired the vast majority of this song.
Unfortunately, Jani Lane, the singer, passed away on August 11, 2011. Jani was going through a rough time with his kids and ex-wife. Binging for a straight week, alcohol got the best of him. Dead at the age of 47, Jani Lane, will always be remembered.
